SMDRI Events

We generally have three events each year, all involving luncheons with speakers or musical entertainers. In some years, we have additional events, such as our 125th anniversary celebration in 2026. These take place at country clubs or similar venues in Rhode Island.

Annual Meeting
Between mid-March and mid-April, we hold our annual business meeting and luncheon.

Compact Day
On November 11, 1620, 41 male passengers on the Mayflower signed the Mayflower Compact, which established the principles of governance for Plymouth Colony. It is considered one of the foundational documents for the United States Constitution. We celebrate with a luncheon in early November or late October each year. New members are recognized with certificates at this meeting.

Forefathers' Day
Forefather's Day celebrates the day that the Mayflower passengers landed at Plymouth Rock. We observe this at a luncheon in early to mid-December each year.
